9 Weeks and counting....

Tomorrow will leave me with 9 weeks to go, that is if my due date is accurate. I can't believe we are in single digits already!! I'm still feeling great. I'm just tired and things are starting to get a bit more uncomfortable. I am definitely enjoying my two weeks off work.

We survived the Christmas ice storm. We made two trips to Sanger and back. One Christmas Eve and one Christmas morning. Of course, I was a nervous wreck and tried very hard to practice my "labor breathing" to stay calm. I only cried once and chewed off all of my nails, but we made it! We had a fabulous Christmas starting with the Becks the Sunday before and then my family on Christmas Eve and Day. Tyler is officially spoiled..already. He got lots of good gifts, including his first 3 Cowboy outfits. (Thank you Mimi, Grammy, and Jill)Our family knows us all too well.
Here are all of his goodies....

For those of you that don't know, I am a big Twilight fan. I enjoy the books and movies along with many of my family members and friends.(I'm throwing the friends and family in there so I don't sound like too big of a looser!) Believe it or not, Rusty absolutely hates it. He hates everything about it....the hype, the books, movies, Edward, everything. My sister bought Tyler a precious little onesie for Christmas. It's the light blue one in the very front. It says.....

I'm the next Edward Cullen

She found it online and I think it is greatness! Now, we just have to talk Rusty into letting him wear it!!

30 Week Appointment

Yesterday I went for my 30 week checkup. Everything sounded good with his heartbeat, it was in the 150's. I'm measuring a little over a week ahead. So, Dr. Popov wants me to have another sonogram to get a more accurate measurement. I'm so very happy about this!! We will get to see Tyler again on January 11th!! I'm thinking my due date will be bumped up a week or two, but who knows.

We...meaning Rusty, have gotten the crib and dresser put together. The bedding is on the crib and I have already started stocking his dresser with clothes. My dear friend Stefanie has given me some of Drew's old things! It was very fun to go through it all and wash it. Everything is soooo tiny!!

Rusty hard at work....

And very proud....

The finished products....

On another baby note, John and Stef had their precious baby girl.
Chloe Kate Day...

Rusty quite nervously held her. He's scared he is going to break her, but he did a very good job! She is so precious and I can't get enough of her. She is doing a good job of satisfying my baby need for the next few weeks!

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!!

My third grade team bought our bassinet and of course Rusty put it together last night....

With the help of Scooter....

We got lots of Target gift cards too, so Rusty and I did a little shopping this afternoon. My Hawk friends bought the dresser and Mimi and Boomer(Rusty's Parents) bought Tyler's crib!! I can't wait to get it all put together! I feel so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family!

28 Week Appointment...

I went this afternoon for my 28 week check up. Everyone looks and sounds great. His heart rate was in the 150's, and I was measuring just a little past 28 weeks. I got my glucose levels back and they were normal so that means no gestational diabetes for me...one less thing to worry about. I also got my Swine Flu shot! Now, I start going every two weeks, how exciting!

I have my first official shower tomorrow afternoon. It's my school shower for me and two other teachers. We are all having boys! Mom and Barbara are coming too. It's a gift card shower so that means this weekend I will be doing some shopping!!

Two Down, One to go!

As of last Thursday, I'm officially in my last trimester! I'm feeling well, just a little tired. Ok, very tired! Tyler is still very active and I love feeling him move. I go to the Dr. on Wednesday and then I will start going every two weeks. I'm getting very excited, nervous, and anxious. It will be here before we know it!

It's Official.....

We have picked a name!

Tyler Reid Beck

We have liked this name from the beginning and haven't really considered any other names. Rusty and I decided a few weeks ago to start calling him Tyler to see if it sticks and if we like it. It stuck and we still like it. All of our family and friends have been calling him Tyler too. We decided tonight to make it official!!

Register....check!

This weekend is the ONLY free weekend we have had in a while. Between UNT games, Cowboy games, and the holidays I won't have another free weekend until after Christmas. Then, showers start! So, I thought it would be a good idea to go ahead and register. Luckily Mom, Katie, and Ava went with me so I could have some mommy expertise. We started at Babies-R-Us, then Target, then back to Babies-R-Us. It was a very looonnnnggg day but we had fun. Ava was a trooper and wanted to buy everything for Tyler(That is our favorite name thus far). She would pick something up and say, "Let's get this for Tyler." It was cute. Here are some of her findings..

We also got really lucky on baby bedding. There was a set at Babies-R-Us that Rusty and I both liked. I have been searching everywhere for baby bedding but haven't found anything else I liked. So, this was the one that has been our favorite and we keep going back to. While we were at Babies-R-Us yesterday we noticed it was on big time sale. They are about to clearance it out so, it was on clearance with an additional 30% off and they only had 3 left. So, I decided to get it. Actually Grammy bought it for him(Thanks Grammy). We bought the bumper, quilt, skirt, sheet, wall pictures, mobile, and lamp.

Here is a picture from the Babies-R-Us website, it's the Nautica Quinten

24 Week Appointment..

I went this afternoon for my monthly checkup. Everything looks and sounds good. He was moving around a bunch so it was hard for Dr. Popov to get an accurate heart rate. It was somewhere in the 160's. Every time she would get it he would move...he's quite active. I was measuring 26 weeks but she said we will see how I am measuring next time. If I am still measuring ahead then we can go from there. I go back in four weeks and then I start going every two weeks!

Halloween

This year Rusty dressed up as Billy Mayes, the OxiClean guy, and I was quite attractive. I decided to go as the white trash man with a beer gut. I decided this about 7:00PM for a 9:00PM party. Not bad for last minute....

Stef, who is due December 15th went as a pregnant bachelorette...

The funny thing was two different people asked me if I was expecting....

Scooter and Grace dressed up too! Unwillingly of course!

It's a boy!!

Yeah! We are soooo excited. My gut has been telling me all along that there was a boy in there. We saw him today in our 20 week sono. He was very active and we saw him yawn. It was too cute! He is measuring at 20 weeks and is 15 ounces. She checks brain, heart chambers, kidney, blood vessels, number of arms and legs, and everything looks great.

Here are some pictures...

His foot!

He is laying face down and his head is on the far right of the picture. You can see his spine and his right ear.

This one is a full body shot. His head is on the far left of the picture.

Look carefully....there's not much to show off yet!

This one is my favorite. He is looking at you straight on. You can see his eyes, nose, and precious mouth. He looks like he has a little smile!!

Only Three More Weeks!!

I went for my 17 week appointment today and all is well. The babies heart was beating in the 150, which according to the old tale is a boy's heart beat. If yall remember at my last appointment it was in the 160's, which is a girls heart beat. So, we will officially find out in three weeks. October 15th at 3:30PM is my 20 week sono. Now, start saying your prayers that baby is cooperating!!

So, I am going this Thursday at 4:30. That is four days sooner, so I am happy! I never knew I could be so excited to go the the doctor.I will let yall know how it goes.

Yucky Flu..

Being a teacher does have it's disadvantages....illness. I thought I had built up enough immunity to be protected from all the snot and germs of little kids but boy was I wrong. I guess now that I am protecting two, things are a little different. I started felling a little yucky Sunday morning and blamed it all on the weather change. I went to work Monday with a little cough, sore throat, and all the stuff that comes along with a cold. Things still weren't better Tuesday morning so I took the list of okayed meds for pregos to my nurse at school so she could help me decide what to take. We decided Sudafed Cold. Ten minutes later I was back in her office, white as a ghost and on the verge of fainting. I laid down and got my feet up just in time. My pulse, blood pressure, and all of that was good but I was running a 99.4 fever. This all happened by about 8:15AM. She called Rusty and I went home for the day. As the day went on I wasn't feeling any better so I made a Dr appointment. Sure enough I tested positive for Type A flu. So, I've been laid up in bed since Tuesday. Luckily enough you can take Tamiful when you are pregnant and that has been a life saver. My fever got up to 101 Tuesday night but I haven't had any since then. I'm feeling MUCH better but I am extremely bored. The Dr says I am no longer contagious after today so we will spend tonight and tomorrow disinfecting the whole house. Fun! Fun!

We have a big weekend ahead of us. Rusty and I are both a part of our friends, Todd and Jill, wedding on Saturday and the big Cowboy home opener is Sunday! So, I feel positive I will be ready to go by this weekend! Things could have been much worse for me and the baby but God is Good...as always! Thanks for all the calls, and prayers.

By the way I am 4 months today! I can't believe it! I'm going to start posting pictures of my belly soon. It's starting to look a little more pregnant and not just chubby. I go back to the Dr on the 28th and I will make my 20 week sono apt then. So, we should be finding out boy/girl sometime around October 15th!

13 week check up.....

I went this afternoon for my checkup and everything seems to be going great. The babies heart rate was 163BPM, which according to the old wives tale....It's a girl. But, we will have to wait about 6 more weeks to find out. I go back on September 28th and the Dr. said that I may be able to feel the baby kicking by then. I can't wait for that!!

1st trimester down....and only two to go. I can't believe how fast it has gone. I'm still feeling great! I did start back to school last week and I am very very tired. My bed time has been about 8:30 or 9:00!! Other than the tiredness, all is well!

12 Week Sono...

We had our FREE 12 week sono this afternoon. I was so worried all day about it, and everything went great! I'm actually measuring about a week further along(13weeks and 4 days) but she didn't change my due date. She said it could be technical error, so we are still set for March 4th. The baby is currently 7cm. The cyst that was over sized at my 6 week sono is now gone. Apparently that's a good thing and means that all my parts are working the way they should be. We finally heard the heart beat!!! Such a great sound!

We got lots of pictures. She even took a couple of 3d too. The baby was moving around a lot. She was about to take one 3d and then he turned over and his butt was up in the air. I can't wait until I can feel him move. (I keep saying he...)

Profile view: The baby's head is on the far right. You can see a little nose and his right hand.

This is a 3D picture. The head is on the far right. You can see arms and legs too. It almost looks like the baby is sucking it's thumb.

Another 3D, same pose.

A little tiny foot. 1cm to be exact.

This is a video of the screen when she let us listen to the heartbeat!! Pretty AMAZING!

9 week Apt.

This morning we had a regular check up appointment. We met with Dr. Popov, which Rusty had not met yet. When I first scheduled the appointment we were thinking I would be about 12 weeks and after the sono I am only 9 weeks along. So, Dr. Popov was not able to find a heart beat but she assured me that there was no reason the worry. She said that the earliest that she can usually hear one is 10 weeks. She answered my list of questions too!!

I go back August 24th (the day before school starts) for a 12 weeks sono. Most people don't do another sonogram until 20 weeks but the sonographer is in the midst of another certification and is giving away FREE sonograms!! Whoo Hooo! So, we will be able to see the baby again and finally hear a heart beat!

Love at first sight!!

We had the 1st sonogram this morning and it was very exciting!! Based on my last cycle everyone thought I was 9 weeks along and it turns out I am only 6 weeks and 1 day. I'm actually quite happy about the change in weeks. It just seems to work better this way. My official due date is March 4th! The baby is currently a little less than 1/2 a cm. Wow, and already has a heart beat. This stuff is amazing!!We did not get to hear a heart beat but we could see a flicker. I go back to the Dr on July 31st and we should be able to hear the heart beat then. I also learned today that it was my left ovary that did all the work.

The only concern she had is with the cyst, which is what released the egg. It's normal and necessary to be there(I think it's attached to the wall on my uterus?? Or, maybe attached to my ovary??I could be wrong?) but it's a bit larger than normal. Usually they are 3cm and mine is 5cm. She said it's not a big deal but just wanted me to be aware of it and cautious. Worst case is it gets over sized and detaches and will cause me lots of pain. She doesn't foresee any issues and told me not to worry. Just wanted to let yall know so yall can add one more thing to your prayer list :)!

It's such a sigh of relief knowing that it's official. After a sleepless night last night full of crazy thoughts, I'm very happy. I got the two things I was praying for......baby and heart beat!!!

GOD IS GOOD!!

1st Doctors Appointment.....

Today, Rusty and I went for our first Dr. apt. We did lots of paperwork and answered a lot of questions. I did have a chance to ask my list of question(literally, I've been writing them down as I think of them!). She did a pap and Rusty has never gotten to experience that part of being a girl. It was quite funny! He said, "That thing that they put in there it...". As he asked he motioned his hand in and then apart. I told him, "Yes that's exactly what just happened!" Very funny! I had blood drawn and then we spoke with the insurance lady. Wow, kids are expensive from the beginning.

Tomorrow is the exciting day. We have an appointment for the first sonogram. We will get to hear the heart beat, see our sweet baby, and find out an exact due date. I can't wait. All I want is to hear a heart beat. For those of you that don't know, I tend to worry....about everything. I think it will allow me to be a lot more at peace.

Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don't forget to thank him for his answers. If you do this then you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus. -Philippians 4: 6-7

Happy Anniversary!!

I will start from the beginning.....I knew I was going to take a pregnancy test on June 23rd, which happens to be our two year anniversary. At 4AM I had to get up to go potty, so I decided to go on ahead and take the test. I was so anxious and couldn't wait. I peed and waited.....PREGNANT! It was an overwhelming feeling! I wanted to tell Rusty immediately but then I wanted to be a bit creative. So, I decided to wrap up the "stick" and give it to him as an anniversary present. Picture me at four in the morning trying to find tissue paper, bag, take pictures of the test, and be super quiet all at the same time. Well, of course Gracie (my Yorkie) ruins the plan by scratching at the back door and waking Rusty up. So, everyone is up and I tell Rusty that I want him to open up a present. He complains," It's 4 in the morning, I have to work tomorrow." I finally get him to open it......
He's opening......
He said, "Is this for real?"....

and Happy!!

We were both very excited and could not wait to share the news with our friends and family! Happy Anniversary to us!!
