Carrots...

Last week we tried green beans and had a strange experience. After eating them Tyler started having lots of diarrhea, so we stopped the green beans .Then came the fever, it got up to 102. The green beans would not have caused the fever so the tummy issues were not because of the green beans, which is good news. I'm thinking it was just a tummy bug but now it's passed and we were able to try carrots out today! You will be able to tell from the videos that he liked carrots way more than green beans. He actually started opening his mouth and reaching for the spoon!!!

Green Beans!!

Tonight was the first night of real baby food, and we decided to try green beans first. He ate them well, even better than he eats his cereal I think. Most of the green beans went in his mouth and this makes me think he likes them. But, based on his facial expressions I seem to think otherwise. I'm not sure if he was making the faces because it tasted bad or just because it was something different and unusual. We will continue green beans for the next few days and see how it goes.

These two videos were are the very end. It appears the green beans got more yucky as time went on.

Sitting Up.....

For the last few weeks Tyler has been sitting up but using his hands/arms to help hold him up. The last few days he has been going just a few seconds at a time with no hands. Today he started holding his hands up for long periods of time. He's still very wobbly and leans forward after a while. He's also not quite sure what to do with his hands. He just sticks them out to the side and doesn't move them. It's pretty funny!

PK Weekend!!!

We spent last weekend at PK lake with some great friends. Tyler had fun and did great in the water and on the boat. Sunday was 5 months. I can't believe it, he's getting so big so fast!!

Gracie.....

As you know Gracie was bit by a dog on July 3rd. She has been at the vet since then besides the two nights she was at home. She is doing well but she does have some wounds that require treatment so they are keeping her at the vet. She is getting hydrotherapy and honey wraps daily to help her heal faster. Which to me sounds more like a day at the spa!! She will be there for the rest of the week and will hopefully come home on Monday. Last Friday we all went to visit her. Luckily she had her honey wrap on so we didn't have to look at any of her wounds. The blue collar is the new version of an e-collar(the cone). She has to wear it so she wont lick or bite at her incisions while she is unwrapped. She was in great spirits and acting like her happy little self!!

Tyler had a great time visiting her as well!!! He thinks it's hilarious when she shakes!!!

Fourth of July Weekend....

This was by far the most memorable 4th weekend we have ever had, for many reasons. Saturday we had a great plan for all of our friends to come over for fajitas and everything was ready to go. Then, we had quite an unexpected accident. The German Shepard next door broke through the fence and bit Gracie. Luckily Rusty was outside and heard her yelp. We rushed her to the Animal ER and waited for the Dr's to examine her. Luckily there was no internal damage just a bruised lung but the outside damage was pretty extensive. She had to have surgery that night to repair the damage. She stayed there a night and is now at our regular vet. Her wounds require a lot of maintenance so she is staying there for a couple of days so the Dr's can monitor her and make sure she is healing correctly. She is going to be ok but it's just something that takes time. It was awful but we are thankful he didn't kill her. Here is a picture of her post surgery.....
By the time we were finished at the Animal ER everyone was at the house and hungry!! We enjoyed the rest of the evening and of course I was calling every couple of hours to check on Grace.

We had a few small fireworks to pop for the kids and needless to say Tyler had his first run in with the cops. They were very nice but Todd did end up with a fireworks ticket.

We finished the weekend off with a pool party at the Bakers. I think we have determined Tyler likes the water but is not a fan of his float. I think he's still a bit too small for it. He was actually splashing the water and having fun. I tried to get video but of course he didn't do anything exciting when the camera was on. Here it is anyways....

Tyler and Chloe Sitting In A Tree.....

It's been so fun to have another baby around. Stef and I have been patiently waiting for Tyler and Chloe to interact and play a little. Chloe is a couple of months older and has been interested in Tyler for a while now, but I think Tyler is just now starting to get that Chloe is another baby. When Chloe sees Tyler she goes nuts. She squeals and kicks and reaches for him. Tyler is just now getting to the point where he will reach for her, watch her, and smile at her a little. Her newest thing is wanting to "kiss" him. It's pretty cute!!
